Finance Department

The City of Anniston Finance Department is responsible for a number of duties and services. Primary functions include accounting, budgeting, managing and investing cash, managing debt, paying invoices, executing payroll, billing receivables, collecting receivables (business licenses, garbage fee payments, animal control fees, taxes, licenses, and others) and human resources management. 

The Department is also responsible for City financial records, financial reporting, purchasing, and maintaining all operating equipment and supplies attributable to these operations.

Anniston Garbage Fee Payments:

Anniston garbage fee payments may also be made online or over the phone by calling: 256-231-7716, Ext. 263.

Anniston Garbage Exemptions: 

Some Anniston residents may qualify for a garbage fee exemption based on income requirements. For inquires or applications, please contact Jasmine Smith (Revenue Compliance) at 256-231-7718 or via email at jasmine.smith@annistonal.gov.

Animal control Voucher

Please be aware that until further notice the Calhoun County Animal Control Center will only be able to accept animals in emergency situations due to high intake levels coupled with staffing shortages

City leadership asks for citizens’ patience as our animal control unit must prioritize emergency situations when addressing reported animal concerns throughout the City of Anniston due to the current constraints of the Calhoun County Animal Control Center. 

At this time, City of Anniston Animal Control Vouchers will only be issued in emergency situations. Each request will be evaluated on a case by case basis prior to a voucher being issued.
