STEM Saturday! (5/20/23)

McWane Corporation, alongside AcaSTEMics, M&H Valve, & Tyler Union, are proud to present McWane STEM Saturdays at the Wiggins Community Center in Anniston! This engaging and educational experience will teach your child all about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through the use of interactive, hands-on projects!
Our next STEM Saturday will occur on May 20, 2023 from
1:00 PM until 3:00 PM! Please, ensure your child brings two 16 ounce water bottles in order to craft their STEM project!

Summer Day Camp Program! (2023)

The City of Anniston is excited to host its annual Summer Day Camp Program. The Summer Camps will run from May 30th through August 4th, from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM (Monday – Friday).
Our camps will take place at the Carver Community Center, Norwood Hodges Community Center, & Wiggins Community Center!
Activities will include: Nature & Science, Drama, Games, Arts & Crafts, Sports, Outdoor Survival, Contests, Music, Field Trips, Dance, Swimming Lessons, Cooking, Gymnastics, Tumbling, and more!

Pricing:
Camp fees for residents of the City of Anniston are $55 per week per child; $50 for each additional child in the same family.
Weekly fees for non-residents are $60 per week per child.
A convenient daily plan is only $15 per child (if space is available).
There is a $25 one-time registration fee for all campers. Fees are non-refundable.
Camperships are available for low income families living within Anniston City Limits whose children attend Anniston City Schools. Proof of school enrollment must be provided. Call the camp your child will be attending for more information.

Our Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) has a full slate of fun activities, games, and more planned for Spring Break week! So, be sure to share the attached flier with anyone looking for some spring time fun for their children!

Wiggins Center Fun Road Ride Challenge! (2023)

Wiggins Center – Fun Road Ride Challenge!
The Fun Road Ride Challenge is a mile and a half street ride that includes: straights, inclines, and curves for your riding enjoyment! Upon the completion of the course ride, we (the WCC Riders) will invite everyone to try out our new bike trail ride at no additional cost! So, grab your bikes and gear up for a fun Saturday bike riding challenge! Concessions will be open, so stop by the stand for a favorite tasty treat!

DATES & TIMES
The Day Camps begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. — Monday through Friday. Ten action-packed weeks are planned beginning May 3 1 st and ending August 5, 2021. July 4th is a city -wide recognized holiday, and our camps will not operate.
STAFF
Participants in our strategically planned Day Camp Programs are supervised at all times by carefully screened counselors. These qualified leaders instruct the campers, as well as lead them through the daily schedule of activities. Calendars will be available each week to keep parents informed of upcoming events and activities.
COST

A-Town Runners | Old Fashion Speed Meet!

Join the Wiggins Community Center’s AAU/TFCUSA track team, the A-Town Runners, for a fun day of track competition as they host the Old Fashion Speed Meet!
WHEN & WHERE: Saturday, May 28th at the McClellan Sports Complex (356 Summerall Gate Rd, Anniston, AL 36206)
Gates will open at 7:30 AM, first event starts promptly at 9:00 AM.
Coaches meeting at 8:00 AM.
Declaring Fees: $15 per athlete – $5 per Relay Team
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, May 25th at 12:00 PM
Gate Admission: $5 (Under 5 is FREE)

After payment, heat sheets will be emailed to the contact person, scan & email completed heat/event sheets back to Carol Bush.
No memberships are required for this meet. Tents are welcomed in designated areas.
