Anniston High Homecoming Parade!

The Bulldogs will lead the way down Noble Street on Thursday, September 8th, for their annual homecoming parade!

The parade will encompass the same route as the Christmas Parade with the line up beginning at 4:00 PM in the Anniston City Meeting Center parking lot, and the parade starting at 5:00 PM!

The 8th – 18th blocks of Noble Street will be closed from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM for the event!

Saturday Alive! is back at the Anniston Museum of Natural History. Each month, we’ll discuss a new topic and introduce you to several of our animal ambassadors. There is always something new to learn at the Anniston Museums and Gardens!

This program is included in museum admission and free for members. 

Getting Started with Hypertufa Workshop!

HyperWHAT? Lightweight and durable, hypertufa planters are fun to make from a mixture of peat moss, perlite, Portland cement, and water. The end result is a unique piece reminiscent of English stone troughs from another era. Join us for this workshop to learn all about hypertufa and create your own beautiful piece.

The class is taught by East Central Alabama Master Gardener, Lee Culver. Lee has been making hypertufa planters and garden statuary for 10 years and teaching classes for master gardeners, public gardens, and various garden clubs for 8 years.

The Hypertufa Workshop is limited to 15 people. Pre-registration is required. Tickets are $40 per person. AM&G members receive a $5 discount. Museum Day at Anniston Museums and Gardens!

Come Explore Your World at the Anniston Museums and Gardens on Saturday, August 20th, with complimentary admission. Meet some of our animal ambassadors, explore the exhibits at the Anniston Museum of Natural History and the Berman Museum, and learn something new through various hands-on activities.

School’s back in session, but there is still time for fun and games! Bring your family and meet your friends at the Berman Museum on Sundays in August, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, for friendly competition through games of the past and present.

This program is included in museum admission and is free for members.

Did you know that the Anniston Museums and Gardens is home to a variety of live reptiles, mammals, and birds? Make plans to join us in the exhibit halls on the 2nd Saturday of each month between 1:00pm and 2:00pm to meet and learn about one of our animal ambassadors. You never know who will be featured!

We have a FUN day planned for this year’s Neewollah on Noble! 🎃 👻

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 22nd, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, for a Spooktacular time! There will be a Cruise-In, Trunk-Or-Treats, Vendors, Games, a Free KidZone, Costume Contests for the entire family, and so much more!

Did you know the tomato originated in the Andes Mountains of South America? It wasn’t adopted into the kitchen until the 16th century by Europeans. Join our family-fun Tomato Tasting at the Longleaf Botanical Gardens! Try a variety of tomatoes, discover new types, and determine which one is your favorite.

Stop the Violence – Community Fun Day!

On August 6th, join the City of Anniston’s Good Choices Program, Main Street Anniston, the Boys & Girls Club, Fegans’ Island Mentor and Training Foundation Corporation, Councilwoman Ciara Smith, and the Anniston Fire & Police Departments as we provide a safe, fun-filled and educational: “Stop the Violence – Community Fun Day!”

Activities include speakers, swimming, outdoor athletics, food, and organized, educational fun! We will kick-off at 10:00 AM at the Anniston Youth Sports Complex on McClellan (356 Summerall Gate Rd, Anniston, AL 36206).

Transportation will be available for those in need! Buses will pickup between 8:15 AM and 8:45 AM on August 6th. All those riding the bus MUST have a signed PERMISSION SLIP in order to board. Permission slips may be downloaded at this link: https://bit.ly/3cIj6Kf . Permission slips may also be picked up at City Hall, the Norwood Boys & Girls Club, and the Constantine Boys & Girls Club. Buses will drop children off at the same locations they were picked up from between 3:15 PM and 3:45 PM.
