Camp Camelot at the Berman Museum – session 2

MEDIEVAL TIMES – the words bring to mind kings and queens, knights and castles, armor and catapults, but what was life really like? Join the Anniston Museums and Gardens at the Berman Museum for three days of engaging medieval fun as we separate fact from fiction, and explore the Middle Ages through hands-on projects and activities sure to bring history to life! It’s a camp experience your child will not soon forget!
Cost: $135; AM&G Members receive a $15 discount (includes daily lunch and all activities)

Saturday Alive! Sounds of Nature with guest speaker, Eric Cline

Ever wonder which animals are making the sounds you hear in nature? Join guest speaker and former AM&G Educational Interpreter, Eric Cline, as we explore the ways animals communicate with each other through a variety of sounds and calls when in danger, defending their territory, and looking for a mate.
Program is included in museum admission and free for members.
Learn, Grow, Eat, and Go!

Join Alabama Cooperative Extension Agent, Tammy Hall each Wednesday for Learn, Grow, Eat, and Go! Learn, Grow, Eat, and Go! (LGEG) is the research and evidence-based curriculum project of the Junior Master Gardener Program that combines academic achievement, gardening, nutrient-dense food experiences, physical activity, and family engagement. This linear set of hands-on, proven lessons, will help students better understand plants and how plants provide for people’s needs. The curriculum features opportunities for the students to participate in fresh vegetable tastings/evaluations, simple recipe demos, and physical activities that research shows can improve on-task behavior and academic performance.
This program is designed for rising 3rd – 5th grade students. Pre-registration recommended.
Create Your Own Flag

Flags are a visual symbol of something – a country, a state, a business – even you! What would your flag look like? How does it represent you? Join the AM&G Education team and create your very own flag that represents you.
This program is included with admission and free to members.
Lunch and Learn: Flag Day

Flags have represented many things to many people for thousands of years and continue to do so today. Bring your lunch and join the Berman Museum on Flag Day to explore the ways flags have been used throughout world history. Learn about and view various U.S. flags and the meanings behind flag colors and symbols. This program is geared toward high school age and above, but all are welcome.
This program is included with admission and free to members.
Walk-up Berman Discovery Tour

Did you know that the artifacts on display represent only a small fraction of the Berman Museum Collection? Have you ever wondered what else is included in the collection? Join the AM&G Education Staff on a special walk-up Discovery Tour of the Berman Museum Collections Department. Discovery Tours are intended for everyone ages 10 and up. Tours will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited to 10 guests each session.
This special tour is $18 per person and includes a self-guided tour of the Berman Museum galleries. AM&G Members and Passport Tickets receive a $4 discount.
Creature Feature

Did you know that the Anniston Museums and Gardens is home to a variety of live reptiles, mammals and birds? Make plans to join us in the exhibit halls on the 2nd Saturday of each month between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to meet and learn about one of our animal ambassadors. You never know who will be featured!
This program is included in museum admission and free for members.
The Model City Jubilee

For years we have fondly looked over news clippings and old pictures of the Diamond Jubilee held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Anniston, and though it was long before our time here at Main Street, it has been our desire to bring something similar back to the city we love.
We invite you to join us in Zinn Park on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 11am till 2pm as we celebrate 140 years of The Model City.
We will have live music by Edgewood Heavy, a “backyard barbecue” competition, inflatables in conjunction with the playground and splash pad for the youth, a “touch a truck” area hosted by the Anniston Fire Department and The Anniston Police Department, food trucks, and more.
Summer Cheer Camp

Learn the basics of cheerleading at this fun, interactive summer cheer camp taught by Coach T! Each camp session will consist of two days of instruction in: Dance Class, Band Dance Class, Cheer/Chant Class (includes motion technique), Stunt Class, Tumbling Sessions, and Jump Class!
Session One will be on June 17th and June 24th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM both days. Registration deadline is June 14th.
Session Two will be on July 1st and July 15th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM both days. Registration deadline will be June 28th.
Each session will be for ages 4+ at the Anniston Aquatic & Fitness Center (130 Summerall Gate Rd, Anniston, AL) and registration will be $60 with a shirt, or $50 without a shirt.

On July 27, 2023 join the City of Anniston and the Anniston City Schools as we provide a safe, fun-filled and educational:
“Stop the Violence Day & Back to School Bash!”
Activities include speakers, outdoor athletics, food, and organized, educational fun! We will kick-off at 4:00 PM at Zinn Park (101 W 14th St, Anniston, AL 36201).
