The City of Anniston is now accepting appointee resumes for the position of City Council Member for Ward 3. Interested individuals must meet all five (5) of the following qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS [City Manager Act of 1953, Ala. Code § 45-8A-23.053 and § 45-8A-23.050]:

1. Minimum age: 21 years old.
2. Residency: Must be a resident of Ward 3 and maintain “residence” in Ward 3 through the duration of term in office. The term “residence” refers to domicile or permanent residence as distinguished from temporary residence. An applicant must have a physical presence in the district, as well as the intention to reside in the district [AGO 2000-146].
3. Voter registration: Must be a registered voter.
4.  Applicants cannot hold another elected or paid public office except as a member of the national guard or naval or military reserve. 
5. Applicants shall not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude.

All resumes should be hand-delivered to the City Manager’s Office (1129 Noble Street, Anniston, AL 36201) or sent via email to citymanager@annistonal.gov by Monday, May 12th at 4:00 PM.
