It’s Been A Long Time Coming! After many years, Carver Community Center will be a site for summer camp this year.
Camp begins in June and will end in August (specific dates are TBA). Our summer camp is a 10 week camp designed for school age children ages 5-12. Camp begins at 7:00 AM and ends at 5:30 PM Monday-Friday.

Our camp will be filled with fun activities, trips, & reading enrichment. Lunch & Snacks will be provided daily (IF YOUR CHILD REQUIRES SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS FOR LUNCH OR SNACKS PLEASE PROVIDE THEIR LUNCH & SNACKS DAILY. SNACKS WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE).

Youth Summer Job Fair!

The Youth Summer Job Fair will be held at the Carver Community Center (720 W. 14th St, Anniston, AL 36201) on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 starting at 5:00 PM! In addition to the positions below, tips on completing job applications and preparing for interviews will also be given!

Aquatic Center | Swim Classes!

The Anniston Aquatic & Fitness Center (130 Summerall Gate Rd, Anniston, AL 36205) will be hosting Swim Classes twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 1, 2022! 

See below for class times for each age range: 

6 months to 3 years – 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM
4 years to 6 years – 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM
7 years and older – 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM

42nd Annual Heritage Festival!

Festival Coordinators Mrs. Georgia Calhoun and the Iota Mu Omega Chapter of AKA invite the community to the Anniston Museums and Gardens on Saturday, February 19, 2022, for the 42nd Annual Heritage Festival! Inspired by Maya Angelou, this year’s theme is Poetry: Put a Rainbow in Someone’s Cloud. Celebrate Black History Month with us all day by encouraging our community’s youth during the oration competition, enjoying a performance from Talladega College Choir, shopping African-inspired vendors, and touring the Anniston Museum of Natural History and Berman Museum! Baby Boy’s BBQ will be onsite with lunch available for purchase. This community event is perfect for people of all ages!
If your child is interested in competing in the 42nd Annual Heritage Festival Oration Competition, download the registration form at and email it to, or visit Anniston Museum of Natural History. This special event provides children from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 the opportunity to develop public speaking skills and strengthen their love for reading, writing, and poetry. Registration forms are due by the end of day Saturday, February 5, 2022. All oration competition participants receive $10.00, a participation ribbon, and a one-year Family Membership to the Anniston Museums and Gardens. Monetary prizes and ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place of each category during the Awards Ceremony.

Anniston Changers is headed to Constantine Park for our next service project on Saturday, November 20th!  Our volunteers will be picking up litter, weeding, cutting grass, and more from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on November 20th!

Volunteers will meet at Constantine Park located at 1501 Constantine Avenue, Anniston, AL 36201.

As always, we count on our volunteers to bring supplies! Thus, be sure to bring any of the following if you have them: Lawn Mowers, Weed-Eaters, Gloves, Shovels, Hedge Trimmers, and/or Chainsaws!

Honoring Our Veterans!

This year, the Berman Museum will be closed on Veteran’s Day as we continue to update the permanent galleries. However, we would like to invite our veterans to explore the redesigned galleries on Sunday, November 28 with complimentary admission. Explore old favorites and discover newly displayed artifacts, including those from the Korean and Vietnam wars. Thank you to all of our veterans for your service and sacrifice.
