Our Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) has a full slate of fun activities, games, and more planned for Spring Break week! So, be sure to share the attached flier with anyone looking for some spring time fun for their children!

Below are the days and locations that you can expect to have some fun:

Thursday | March 30th | 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Carver Community Center – 720 W 14th St, Anniston, AL 36201
During this week, all centers will be closed from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, except the center that is hosting that day’s activities and the Aquatic Center.All centers will reopen from 4:15 PM to 7:00 PM each day for free play and other activities as planned.

Something To Do Sunday at Wiggins

Something To Do Sundays are back! A local favorite, every 3rd Sunday we will set up shop at one of our centers or out in the community and provide the youth with educational fun, games, activities, and structure!

This month, we will be at the Wiggins Community Center (2202 W. 17th Street, Anniston, AL 36201) on Sunday, March 19, 2023 (03/19/23) from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM!

Our Something To Do days started with concerned community citizens coming together on one accord to offer our deserving youth a structured, yet fun-filled opportunity to play and learn!

Be sure to bring your most recent Report Card! Rewards will be given to A & B Students!

2023 Police vs. Fire Charity Basketball Game!

APD v AFD Basketball Game

Main Street Anniston invites you to join the Anniston Fire Department and the Anniston Police Department as they go head to head in a charitable basketball game.

Admission is $5 at the door and all proceeds benefit the Anniston City Schools Annual Back to School Bash!

Doors open at the Anniston Aquatic Center at 11am. We will have the concession stand operating so bring some extra cash for hotdogs and drinks.

Don’t forget to support your favorite team by wearing RED for Anniston Fire and BLUE for Anniston Police!

2023 Noble Street Festival & Sunny King Criterium!

The Noble Street Festival returns to Downtown Anniston on May 6, 2023 from 11 AM – 7 PM! Join us for live music, local cuisine, pro bike racing, a free KidZone, and other exciting attractions! Main Street Anniston’s, Noble Street Festival, a large scale community event — anticipates bringing together nearly 7,500-10,000 attendees and dozens of companies from across the greater Calhoun County areas!

2022 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony!

You’re Invited to The City of Anniston, Alabama and Main Street Anniston’s 2022 Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 1st at 5pm at 1129 Noble Street!

The Tree Lighting Ceremony will conclude with hot cocoa, coffee, and cookies (while supplies last) hosted by Main Street Anniston Board of Directors.

Main Street Rivalry Run 5K!

Main Street Anniston and Historic Main Street Oxford have partnered together to bring you the second annual #RivarlyRun 5K, which will kickoff this Saturday, Nov. 19th, at 7:00 AM!
Participants will register to run for Team #Anniston or Team #Oxford. The City with the most runners will be deemed the Main Street Rivalry Run Champion, and keep the trophy until the following year! So make plans to support the city you love!

Participants will begin at Simmons Park (Main Street & E. Oak Street, Oxford, AL 36203) in downtown Oxford. From there, runners will head North towards Noble Street, crossing over to Front Street and continuing to the Christmas Tree Park in Historic Downtown Anniston (11th Street & Noble Street).

On-Site registration will begin at 7:00 AM in Simmons Park (Oxford). The race will begin promptly at 8:00 AM! The awards Ceremony will be held in Downtown Anniston at 9:30 AM. The City of Anniston will be hosting a shuttle service back to Oxford beginning at 9:45 AM as well!.

Join the City of Anniston and Main Street Anniston on Tuesday, December 6th for the annual Downtown Anniston Christmas Parade!

The Christmas Village will open at 5:00 PM and the parade will begin at 6:30 PM!

McWane STEM Saturdays!

Register for the McWane STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Saturdays at the Wiggins Community Center!

We plan to host multiple STEM events throughout the year, so stay tuned for future dates. Our first STEM Saturday will be January 21, 2023 form 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM! For questions, please contact Carol Bush at: 256 231-7628 and/or cbush@annistonal.gov.

100 participants will be allowed to enter this first camp, so be sure to get your spot before it is gone!
