Hosted in Historic Downtown Anniston, participants will make their way through color stations as they progress through the race. Whether you walk or run, we promise you will have a blast!

First 50 registrations receive an event t-shirt and swag bag!

Carver Center Chili Cook-Off!

CALLING ALL COOKS & FOOD LOVERS!!!!!!

Are you the best cook in Calhoun County? Prove it by entering into Carver Community Center’s Chili Cook-Off!

Carver’s Chili Cook-Off is scheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2022 starting at 12PM and ending at 2PM inside the gymnasium. To sample all chili, the cost is $2. To purchase a bowl of chili, the cost is $5.

If you would like to be a chili contestant please contact Carver Community Center at 256-231-7630 and ask for Recreation Leader Derwin Perry by Monday, January 24th.

All contestants must meet at Carver Community Center on Thursday, January 27th at 6:00 PM for an informational meeting.

Anniston Changers will be taking on TWO SITES for this month’s service project on Saturday, January 15th! Volunteers can choose to either:Meet at Randolph Park (1906 Bancroft Avenue, Anniston, AL 36201) to help clean up the park and its new bike trails for the youth at the Wiggins Community Center!Meet at the Anniston High School football field (308 E 18th St, Anniston, AL 36207) in order to help clean up the Rocky Hollow neighborhood! If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact City PIO, Jackson Hodges, anytime via text or call at: 256-846-2044!

The Noble Street Festival returns to Downtown Anniston on April 9, 2022 from 11 AM – 7 PM! Join us for live music, local cuisine, pro bike racing, KidZone, and other exciting attractions! Main Street Anniston’s, Noble Street Festival, a large scale community event — anticipates bringing together nearly 7,500-10,000 attendees and dozens of companies from across the greater Calhoun County areas!

Exploring Cultures: Our World Through Artifacts and Oral Traditions!

Join us on the last Sunday of each month at any time between 2:00pm and 4:00pm as we explore various cultures through artifacts, both on and off display, in the Berman Museum collection. This is a fun way to learn more about different people groups throughout time and their world views from the items and stories they have left behind. January’s program will focus on Dynastic China.

This program is included in museum admission and free for AM&G members.

Saturday Alive! – Meet Mel!

Saturday Alive! is returning to the Anniston Museum of Natural History. Meet our animal ambassador, Mel, the barred owl, in this interactive program. Learn about his characteristic calls (it’s not whooo, whooo), what makes him an incredible hunter, and other fun facts.

This program is included in museum admission and free for AM&G members.

Hands On History: Build a Covered Wagon!

Put yourself in the shoes of the American pioneers. Join us at the Berman Museum any time between 2:00pm and 4:00pm to build your own covered wagon. Once your wagon is complete, you’ll have the opportunity to pack it with “supplies.” Will you be able to carry everything you need for your trip out West?

This program is included in museum admission and free for AM&G members. 

Amazing Adaptations: Mimicry!

Animals have the amazing ability to adapt to their environment in a variety of ways. Join our Education team any time between 1:00pm and 3:00pm in the exhibit halls as we explore how some animals use mimicry and disguise to help them survive!

6th Annual Judkins Family Christmas BBQ!

6th Annual Judkins Family Christmas

The 6th Annual Judkins Family Christmas will take place Dec. 25th from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the Carver Community Center! There will be free food, in to-go-plates, as well as fellowship and music from acts such as N2 Christ & Mary Culpepper! If you are interested in performing at this event, please contact Ms. Judkins at: 256-591-5194!

The menu will include Ribs, Chicken, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Sides! Be sure to wear your masks and socially distance as well! Delivery will be available for disabled citizens, simply reach out to 256-591-5194 to set it up!

The Anniston Police Department is excited to announce the kickoff of its annual Christmas Toy Drive!

We hope you can help us make some little ones smile this holiday season by dropping off toy donations at the Anniston Police Department (174 W 13th St, Anniston, AL 36201)

We will be accepting donations until Friday, Dec. 17th! Afterwards, we will host the Toy Drive give-away at the Station on Monday, Dec. 20th.
