Summer Day Camp Program! (2023)

The City of Anniston is excited to host its annual Summer Day Camp Program. The Summer Camps will run from May 30th through August 4th, from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM (Monday – Friday).
Our camps will take place at the Carver Community Center, Norwood Hodges Community Center, & Wiggins Community Center!
Activities will include: Nature & Science, Drama, Games, Arts & Crafts, Sports, Outdoor Survival, Contests, Music, Field Trips, Dance, Swimming Lessons, Cooking, Gymnastics, Tumbling, and more!

Registration forms may be picked-up at each community center camp site.
Once you have filled-out your registration form, you may either deliver it to any Anniston Community Center, or mail it to:

Pricing:
Camp fees for residents of the City of Anniston are $55 per week per child; $50 for each additional child in the same family.
Weekly fees for non-residents are $60 per week per child.
A convenient daily plan is only $15 per child (if space is available).
There is a $25 one-time registration fee for all campers. Fees are non-refundable.
Camperships are available for low income families living within Anniston City Limits whose children attend Anniston City Schools. Proof of school enrollment must be provided. Call the camp your child will be attending for more information.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt! (2023)

Hop on over to the City of Anniston’s Youth Sports Complex football field (356 Summerall Gate Rd, Anniston, AL 36206) on Thursday, April 6th at 7:00 PM for a fun evening of flashlight Easter egg hunting!
The cost of admission is $3.00 per child, and be sure to bring a flashlight and a bag/basket to collect your eggs in! Also, be sure to dress appropriately for the outside weather!

Spring Break in Anniston! (2023)

Our Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) has a full slate of fun activities, games, and more planned for Spring Break week! So, be sure to share the attached flier with anyone looking for some spring time fun for their children!

2023 Youth Summer Job Fair!

The Youth Summer Job Fair will be held at the Carver Community Center (720 W. 14th St, Anniston, AL 36201) on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 starting at 5:00 PM! Those who attend the job fair will be given tips on completing job applications and preparing for interviews.
The following positions will also be available for youth, ages 16 to college age, at this job fair:

Lifeguard | $10.16/HR

Carver Center’s 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off!

Carver Community Center’s 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off is scheduled for Saturday, January 14, 2023 starting at 1PM and ending at 3PM inside the gymnasium. To sample all chili, the cost is $2. To purchase a bowl of chili, the cost is $5.
If you would like to be a chili contestant please contact Carver Community Center at 256-231-7630 and ask for Recreation Leader Derwin Perry by Monday, January 9th.
All contestants must meet at Carver Community Center on Monday, January 9th at 6:00 PM for an informational meeting. Judges will vote for the best chili.

7th Annual Judkins Family Christmas BBQ!

The 7th Annual Judkins Family Christmas BBQ will take place on Sunday, December 25, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Carver Community Center (720 W. 14th Street, Anniston, AL 36201)!
There will be free food, fellowship, and music from acts such as N2 Christ & Mary Culpepper Community Choir!

The menu will include Ribs, Chicken, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Sides! Delivery will be available for disabled citizens, simply reach out to 256-591-5194 to set it up!
Carver Thanksgiving Feeding!

The annual #Thanksgiving Feeding at the Carver Community Center will take place on November 24th! This event is free and open to all looking for a good Thanksgiving meal!

Anniston Changers at the Carver Center!

The Anniston Changers are headed to the Carver Community Center this month! This project marks our 2-Year anniversary of monthly service projects!
Before we celebrate though, there is work to do! So, we need your help! We will be tackling trash piles that have been left out on the roadside or illegally dumped, as well as picking up litter around the community, and more!
Volunteers will meet at the Carver Community Center Parking Lot (720 W 14th St, Anniston, AL 36201) on Saturday, October 29th! We plan to work from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM!

From the meeting point, volunteers will be assigned to areas of town to pick up any piles they see! So if you have a truck or trailer, and want to make an impact on your community, please join us on Saturday to be the Change! Other volunteers will work the area around Carver on foot, so there will be something for everyone to help with!
Also, for those that can’t make the project, no need to worry! There will be rolloff dumpsters at Pelham Park, the Carver, Norwood Hodges, and South Highland Centers all day Saturday (10/29/22) for free use for all!

Halloween is right around the corner!
Join Carver Community Center for our 3rd annual “DRIVE-THRU” TRUNK-OR-TREAT on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27TH from 6PM-8PM.
The line-up will start @ 5:45PM in the parking lot of Carver Center.
