Loose & Bagged Leaf Collection

Loose Leaf Collection
Begins around October 15th
Ends March 31st of each year.

The City of Anniston’s Street Division offers loose leaf collection around
October 15th through March 31st of each year.  During this time, residential
solid waste customers may place their loose leaves out and they will be collected

as we get to them without having to bag them.

Bagged leaf pick up starts on April 1st and ends around October 14th of each year.
Bagged leaves are picked up every other week year round during the
brush and junk pickup (unless closed due to holiday or severe weather).

When it rains and/or there are freezing temperatures we do not
pick up the loose leaves at that time.

Here are a few guidelines in how to prepare your loose leaves for collection:
DO’s and DON’Ts:
Do place leaf piles behind curb, ditches, and culverts.
Don’t place leaf piles in the gutters, pipes, ditches, culverts, or
road (this will cause drainage and/or traffic problems).
Don’t park cars in front of or near leaf piles.
Don’t mix sticks, limbs, rocks, or other debris with leaf piles
(the vacuum equipment cannot collect anything but loose leaves).
